Aversa, Stefano

Stefano Aversa is a talented and highly skilled turnaround expert. He brings an enviable track record, polished approach and over 20 years of experience to AlixPartners. A results-oriented visionary, Stefano has recorded noteworthy successes in both the automotive and consumer goods industries.

Stefano is Co-President of AlixPartners and a board member. He was a founding member of the firm’s Milan office and was co-leader of Europe. Stefano joined AlixPartners from A.T. Kearney, where he was Global Leader of the Automotive and Aerospace practice. Formerly, Stefano served as Technology Manager at Magneti Marelli, the Automotive Component Division of Fiat Group, where he led restructuring and growth initiatives.

Stefano worked with investors, boards and management of industrial companies developing and implementing competitive strategies and turnaround programs. He often assisted major automotive OEMs and suppliers through strategic and operational transitions, mainly in Europe and the United States. Assignments include:

  • Designed and implemented a new supply chain and manufacturing system for a global tire manufacturer.
  • Led the turnaround program of a major 2-wheeler with 10 points out of the cost chain and back to profit in 18 months.
  • Managed a post merger integration for a global powertrain manufacturer with 15 points of cost synergies in 24 months.
  • Conducted a large scale performance improvement program for a major agricultural and construction equipment manufacturer.
  • Assisted several global automotive OEM in major initiatives including: design to cost, sourcing, supply chain and manufacturing footprint optimization, sales and distribution network restructuring.

Stefano holds an MBA from the University of Turin and a master degree in mechanical engineering and robotics from the University of Florence, both with honors. He is a member of the World Economic Forum, Bocconi Advisors, INSOL, and the Society of Automotive Analysts. He is a sought-after speaker on industrial and financial matters.
