Faraci, Michael
Michael has extensive expertise in the area of litigation discovery with a focus on the strategy surrounding collection, review, and production of complex electronic data. His experience in the information technology industry includes systems engineering, data analytics, application development, configuration and release management, and relational database development.

Michael’s experience includes work on many of the highest profile regulatory investigations in the country. His clients have included companies spanning the telecommunications, media, investment banking, defense and manufacturing industries. On these engagements he has led teams in securing data in a forensically sound and defensible manner and has worked with his clients to develop efficient solutions to review the potentially responsive data sets. These engagements regularly involve the review and production of millions of documents.

Michael is often engaged as a technical expert to assess a company’s IT systems and retention policies as they relate to current or pending litigation. He has been named as clients’ 30(b)(6) expert on several engagements. He has been in front of the DOJ, SEC and FBI to explain and defend the processes used to obtain and review data for production.

Michael has deep experience in large scale data analytics projects. His experience deploying and modifying complex financial systems e.g. Oracle Financials & SAP, gives him the skill set to help clients determine how to best understand and extract relevant financial data sets for analysis. Michael has also worked on several large class action suits which have necessitated millions of rows of complex legacy claims data to be extracted and put into Oracle and MS SQL Server databases for damage analyses.

Prior to joining AlixPartners, Michael was a Managing Director at Navigant Consulting, Inc. where he headed their East Coast Discovery Services practice. He was also involved in determining the practice’s global technology strategy.

Before his work at Navigant, Michael served as Vice President at the Systems Evaluation Group, Inc. He began his career at User Technology Associates performing cost and schedule control as well as systems engineering. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the College of William and Mary.
