For a $2B manufacturer, achieved an $80MM increase in operating profit, $97MM increase in operating cash flow, $72MM improvement in working capital, and $450MM reduction in debt – results achieved in nine months.
For a $1B manufacturer, achieved a 28% ($26MM) increase in operating profit through: manufacturing footprint optimization, plant productivity, SKU rationalization, SG&A cost reduction, and pricing improvements – results achieved in six months.
For leading $1B branded consumer products company, led project to optimize distribution, inventory and service levels: achieved 10% decrease in distribution costs and 20% decrease in inventories while improving service levels.
For a leading specialty food products company, led project that increased operating profit by >50% in six months through improvements in sourcing, manufacturing productivity, logistics, and product portfolio rationalization.
Prior to joining AlixPartners, David served as a Partner, Practice Leader, and Global Account Leader for Price Waterhouse. In this capacity, David led engagements for key clients involving corporate strategy development, operations improvement, and organizational restructuring. He also served as a Director and President of Encore Development Corporation.
David has won the Turnaround Management Association’s Annual Turnaround of the Year Award and the M&A Advisor’s Annual Turnaround of the Year Award. He has been cited by CEO Magazine as a “leading investment thinker” on the topic of business performance improvement and value creation, and is a frequent speaker at leading business forums such as the Outstanding Directors’ Exchange.
David holds an MBA in finance and marketing from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, and BA (magna cum laude) from Williams College.
