As a restructuring consultant, I was very familiar with AlixPartners before I applied to work here as it is the industry standard. My favorite part of the recruiting process was the discussions I had with interviewers on previous projects I worked on and case studies. Through these conversations, I learned new perspectives and ideas that I have been able to apply to my work, which reinforced for me that AlixPartners would be the right firm to enhance my restructuring skills and knowledge.
But beyond wanting to work at a firm with such a great reputation in the market, I was drawn to AlixPartners for its entrepreneurial culture. AlixPartners is not hierarchical. Everyone’s opinion counts regardless of their role or level.
This is interesting to me since our firm is also well-known for having seasoned client teams, but even senior leaders with many years of experience in consulting or industry are open to new ideas from less experienced members of their teams. Everyone that I have met here is eager to learn and improve (both themselves and the firm), which permeates the culture in several ways. Change is perceived as good and necessary.
I have found that if someone has an idea to improve something or make a process more efficient, then they are encouraged to pursue that idea. In addition, there are many ways to contribute to the firm’s success outside of your specific role, including leading trainings or assisting with recruiting, which makes AlixPartners an ideal place for people like me who are still early in their careers but want to make an impact.
