AlixPartners acts as lead financial advisors on Restructuring Plans for Enzen Global Limited

28 March 2025

London (28 March 2025)AlixPartners, the global consulting firm, today announces that it has advised Enzen Global Limited and Enzen Limited (“Enzen”), a global consultancy business providing support to the water and energy sectors, on the sanctioning of its Part 26A Restructuring Plans.

The Restructuring Plans included a number of new concepts:

•    HMRC voting in favour: For the first time, HMRC, who were secondary preferential and unsecured creditors, voted in favour of the Plans. This represented a policy change where they will now fully participate in Restructuring Plans where it is necessary and desirable for them to do so.

Bar date for opposition: Another novel feature of the Plans was the Court provided clear deadlines for submission of challenges and any evidence. This provided much needed certainty to all stakeholders on the restructuring timetable. Furthermore, it enabled the Plan Companies and its advisors to deal with queries and challenges expediently with clarity on the level of opposition it would receive in between the convening and sanction hearings.

•    Compromising unknown liabilities: The Plans sought to comprise both financial and operational claims, including those where the liability had not yet crystallised, such as ongoing litigation against the Plan Companies.

This deal with Enzen was led by Senior Partner Ben Browne, Partner Richard Harrison and Director Marcus Fletcher.
