Big ships, tariffs cloud container carrier outlook

The threat of a trade war between the US and China is leading to a worsening outlook for the shipping industry in 2018, say Brian Nemeth and Henry Pringle of AlixPartners. Pringle noted that while big ships can help carriers drive unit costs down, those economies are only pertinent if the ships are filled.
