DETROIT (OCTOBER 28, 2024) – Yvette Zhang, Advanced-Mobility Segment Co-Leader and a Director in the Automotive and Industrial Practice at AlixPartners, the global consulting firm, has been named a 2024 Automotive News Champion of Diversity. Yvette is featured in a special section in the October 28 issue of Automotive News.

For the fourth year, the Champions of Diversity in Automotive program has recognized individuals that uphold and advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion in the automotive industry.

Yvette has more than 15 years of consulting experience and has helped automakers and automotive suppliers across the world transform themselves via growth-strategy development, supply-chain optimization, process and organization re-engineering and operations improvement. She is a trusted advisor to businesses ranging in scale from start-ups to multi-billion-dollar global companies, including advising them in the high-tech spaces of future mobility, electrification and autonomous driving. Her clients are impressed by her expertise, excellent problem-solving skills and accountability to deliver real results. For example, the CEO of a billion-dollar automotive supplier she helped transform stated, “The processes developed by Yvette has helped us win one project after another.”

Internally at AlixPartners, Yvette has for several years led the autonomous-vehicle and ADAS research section of renowned annual AlixPartners Global Automotive Outlook. Many of the insights have been quoted by major media outlets around the world, such as CBS News and ABC News. And she has been a speaker at multiple conferences, including the Greater China Business Conference at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and the Women Automotive Network’s Detroit Summit.

When serving as the global leader of AlixPartners’ employee-resource group ALIGN (Asian Leadership Insights and Growth Network), Yvette developed relationship with ERGs at Ford Motor Co., General Motors Co., Toyota Motor North America and other companies. The topics of some of the resulting sessions included “The Rise in Anti-Asian Hate Crimes: Corporate Responsibility & Individual Empowerment,” “How the Model Minority Myth Impacts Asian Americans at Work” and “Celebrating Asian Women in Corporate America.”

“We at AlixPartners heartily congratulate Yvette on this major recognition,” said Dan Hearsch, Americas Leader of the Automotive and Industrial Practice at AlixPartners. “Diversity and inclusion are very important to our firm, and to this practice, and Yvette is indeed a champion on those fronts as well as in her work with clients.”
