Adrian is a Partner in the Risk Advisory practice at AlixPartners, and is based in Zurich. Adrian leverages cutting-edge technology and his accounting expertise to conduct high-profile internal and regulatory investigations, monitorships, comprehensive reviews of compliance programs, and related transformations.
Adrian advises on complex local and cross-border compliance matters in connection with senior management misconduct, accounting fraud, corruption, bribery, money laundering, sanctions circumventions, terrorist financing, tax fraud, asset misappropriation, and other related offenses. He also supported clients in the context of examinations commissioned by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), the New York State Department of Financial Services (DFS), the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin), or the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA).
Adrian holds an MS in Finance from the University of Lausanne and is a chart holder with the CFA institute.
Key Engagements:
- Led a large-scale investigation (~11 million documents) into suspicions expressed by a human right organization that assets managed by the client originated from illegal and/or illegitimate sources and prepared a public report.
- Led the project team that oversaw the global implementation of the largest compliance change program in history of the DAX 30 company in response to external regulatory requirements, including the assessment of the program design and effectiveness testing in Europa, Asia, North America, Latin America and South America.
- Led the development of the data preservation concept and oversaw its implementation for a major German financial institution, independently safeguarding over two petabytes of data from 15+ global locations amid tight deadlines and public scrutiny for potential investor-related claims.
- Held a pivotal role in a global financial institution's compliance efforts during a complex DFS monitorship by leading the data analytics team focused on key work streams.
