Andrew Grantham is an experienced damages, valuation and forensic accounting expert with over 35 years experience. He has given expert evidence in the UK High Court and Crown Court, as well as in international arbitrations on over 50 occasions. He has given evidence in ICC, ICSID, LCIA, UNCITRAL and various ad hoc arbitrations around the world.
His experience as an expert accountancy witness covers many aspects of accounting and financial matters, including breach of contract and loss of profits claims, claims arising following acquisitions and sales of businesses (including breach of warranty and completion account disputes), IP disputes and business valuations.
Andrew has been nominated as one of the leading expert witnesses and forensic accountants in Arbitrations and Investigations, he has been included as a Global Elite Thought Leader in Who’s Who Legal.
Andrew has been ranked in Band 1 for Forensic Accounting UK in the Chambers Litigation Support guide since 2020.
His work over the last 35 years has included audit, corporate finance due diligence, internal audit, corporate recovery liquidity appraisals and valuations. In respect of corporate liquidity, he has also undertaken assignments involving Security for Cost applications.
He has also acted as an expert determiner in completion account disputes on a number of occasions. He has needed to review and/or prepare completion accounts under many different GAAP, including IFRS.
Andrew is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and was a Governor, Chairman of the Finance Committee and Treasurer of the Expert Witness Institute from 2007 to 2014.
Andrew was co-head of AlixPartners’ Financial Advisory Services team in EMEA and a member of its EMEA Operating Committee from 2011 to 2016.
