Colin is a Director in the Data Analytics practice at AlixPartners, and is based in London. Colin helps clients navigate complex data challenges on high-profile legal, litigation and regulatory matters, where the accurate treatment and analysis of data is critical to the success of the case.
Colin has over 20 years of experience in financial accounting, data analysis, and operational systems design, development, audit, and preservation. He has experience across multiple industries, including automotive, manufacturing, logistics, distribution, not-for-profit, and retail, and has assisted clients in forensic investigations, litigation support, and operational improvement consultations. Colin also has considerable experience in working with various industry-standard and bespoke financial systems.
Colin holds a First-Class Honours degree in computer science from Imperial College London and is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
Key Engagements:
- Led and participated in the identification of customers impacted by operational failings at a large UK bank to support a £100m+ rectification process.
- Performed a regulator-mandated global sanctions compliance investigation for a large multinational bank, reporting to the bank’s appointed monitor and US regulators; re-created the bank’s global sanctions compliance technology landscape to replicate its historical behavior and led the Russian and Chinese work streams.
- Automated and streamlined customer redress processes and remediation processes at a large UK retail bank, delivering savings of over £500m.
- Following the collapse of a large UK tour operator, led the collection, preservation and resurfacing of data required to support the administration of the estate.
- Led the data analytics components of multiple competition-related matters, including cartel damages claims, class actions, and market abuse litigation.
