Richard is a Partner & Managing Director in the Disputes & Valuations practice at AlixPartners and is based in New York and Dallas. Richard has more than 25 years of experience leading a broad range of consulting engagements, including mergers and acquisitions, financial reporting, business valuation, intellectual property valuation, forensic accounting investigations, financial and strategic planning, solvency determinations, and economic damages quantification.
Richard has led hundreds of valuation engagements in a variety of circumstances, including buy-side and sell-side advisory, financing, financial reporting, tax compliance, dispute resolution, and strategic alternative assessment. He has served as an economic damage expert in many matters over his career and regularly quantifies lost profits, unjust enrichment, reasonable royalty, and diminution in value damages.
He has also led a range of forensic accounting related engagements including government investigations, whistle-blower claims, financial restatements, fraud and corruption schemes, post-closing merger & acquisition disputes involving alleged breaches of representations and warranties, working capital disputes, and earn-out disputes.
Richard has previously served as an expert in U.S. federal and state courts, the UK High Court, the Canadian Superior Court of Justice, and AAA, FINRA, ICC, and JAMS arbitrations. He has also served as an independent arbitrator in matters involving accounting, damages, and valuations issues numerous times.
Richard earned an MBA from the University of California, Los Angeles and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in finance from the University of Southern California. He is a CPA licensed in New York, California, and Texas. Richard also holds ASA, ABV, and CFF credentials.
