He has over 20 years of experience in re-creating and examining various trading strategies embedded deep in the trading tape. He testifies as an expert in litigation matters involving complex trading data analysis, risk analysis, asset valuation and a wide array of market conduct issues.
Matt has served clients as an expert in inquiries and enforcement actions brought by the SEC, FERC, CFTC, DOJ, FCA, European Commission, and other international regulatory bodies, examining for conduct such as spoofing, front running, index manipulation, mis-marking, rogue trading, corners and squeezes, collusion, misreporting, disruptive trading, wash trading, and a variety of market power issues.

- Qualified and testified as an expert in trading and trade data analysis in matters in the key financial market centers of New York (SDNY) and Chicago (NDIL).
- Retained by FTX Trading Ltd. to lead examination into historical activities at FTX including crypto market analysis, historical financial analysis, exchange & OTC trading analysis, and other investigatory services after the cryptocurrency exchange collapsed in 2022.
- Has led dozens of engagements involving High Frequency Trading (HFT) strategies, and has built trading analytics on hundreds of terabytes of complex trading data from securities exchanges, derivatives exchanges, bank and broker records, among others.
- Formerly a Director at Barclays Capital where he was Head of US Valuations & New Business and responsible for various valuation controls, pricing assets, risk management, trading controls and a wide variety of trading analyses.
