Erik joined AlixPartners in 2021 and is a global leader in the firm’s Ecommerce Performance Improvement and Marketing Effectiveness practices. Erik’s expertise is in optimizing the relationships between online merchandising, digital marketing, and the omnichannel customer experience, which he leverages in the firm’s work with clients across North America and EMEA to drive topline growth, spend efficiency, and EBITDA expansion. Highly sought-after as an expert on ecommerce, Erik has guest-lectured at prestigious institutions such as INSEAD, London Business School and HEC Paris, and has spoken at multiple conferences, including Shoptalk.
Before joining AlixPartners, Erik enjoyed a 20-year retail career in roles of increasing responsibility, including Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Digital Officer positions at several publicly-traded omnichannel retailers and Direct-to-Consumer brands. His experience spans verticals including apparel, footwear, beauty, jewelry, home/DIY, food/beverage, technology and travel, and he has worked on ecommerce businesses with revenue ranging from the low millions to the low billions EUR.
Prior to his business career, Erik was a professional actor and opera singer, and has composed multiple classical works, including a full-length opera. He holds a Bachelors from Duke University, two Masters from the New England Conservatory of Music, and an MBA from INSEAD, and attended all three institutions on merit scholarships.
