With over 25 years of experience, Bernardo helps consumer products companies drive profitable and sustainable growth, both organically and through mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships.

Bernardo co-leads AlixPartners' beverage subsector globally, where he has served clients across beer, wine, spirits, RTDs, soft drinks, sports drinks, coffee, tea, juices, water and more. His experience spans other industry subsectors, including chocolate confectionary, animal protein, baked goods, household products, personal care, fashion apparel, sporting goods, tobacco, consumer electronics, agribusiness, packaging, and wholesale distribution.

His areas of expertise include: 1) strategy development and execution, 2) global expansion and new market entry, 3) M&A, partnerships, and divestitures, and 4) margin expansion and performance improvement.

A citizen of the world, Bernardo has visited more than 40 countries. He has extensive experience working across international borders, having served clients in North America, Europe, Latin America, and Asia Pacific. He is a native Portuguese speaker, and fluent in English, French, and Spanish.

Prior to starting his career in management consulting, Bernardo has worked in a variety of brand marketing and sales operations roles at The Coca-Cola Company.

He holds an M.B.A. with honors in strategy, marketing, and managerial economics from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and a B.S. cum laude from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro.

Bernardo is 16-time marathoner (PR 3:45:04, 6-star finisher), a passionate global traveler, and a food and beverage enthusiast. He has been calling Chicago home since 2000, where he lives with his wife and their two teenage sons.
