Martin has more than 15 years of professional experience in managing a broad range of projects, mainly in the automotive industry. Martin focuses on supporting his clients by managing company-wide transformation and cost improvement programs. Before joining the firm, Martin was principal consultant with PA Consulting in Munich, where he was a member of the firm’s manufacturing practice. Prior to that, he was with Magna, a leading tier 1 automotive supplier.

Martin studied industrial engineering at the Technical University of Vienna and holds a PhD from the Technical University of Graz.

  • Helped a European OEM to define the supplier strategy for powertrain; developed negotiation strategies and supported the client in supplier negotiations.
  • Supported a leading tier 1 automotive supplier in a global Purchasing transformation program by leading a category team; implementing best-in-class tools and processes; negotiating with top spend supplier.
  • Helped a European automotive supplier to manage a company-wide turnaround program.
  • Supported an American medical device company in closing a German site and relocating the business to the UK and China; managed the R&D team as interim manager and helped Chinese colleagues transfer the knowledge base and set up the engineering processes.
  • Served various premium automotive OEMs in cutting their product costs for vehicle modules (doors, engines, seat modules) in the concept and serial development phase.
  • Helped a complete vehicle manufacturer to significantly improve its cost structure in engineering and manufacturing by conceptualizing and implementing a company-wide lean transformation program.
  • Supported an automotive supplier in developing a pricing strategy for an innovative roof module.
