AlixPartners was retained to perform a comprehensive analysis of the capital expenditure (capex) allocation, project development, and project execution processes, and to assess the utilization and capabilities of the engineering resources deployed in business units and the central engineering organization.
We developed a set of improvement initiatives to restructure the project development process and engineering organization to yield $75 million in capex productivity improvements, and to improve project management processes, resource capability, and deployment to reduce headcount by 5% through consolidation of capabilities.
